My name is Danny. My sister, Betsy, and I started a project in 1996 called
Turkeys 'R' Us
so that even the neediest families could have a turkey on their Thanksgiving table.
We started this project when I was 8 and Betsy was 6.
We saw a news story about the shortage of turkeys at the Greater Boston Food Bank and we wanted to help.
The Food Bank is distributing the turkeys to a network of 900 food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters throughout all eastern Massachusetts.
These turkeys help feed children just like us. These are kids and families that we can really help. |
